Shia LaBeouf publicly urinated at restaurant, is ‘definitely’ not on drugs

Here’s a photo of Shia LaBeouf at his Friday arraignment after his arrest for public misconduct during Broadway’s Cabaret at Studio 54. He’d been slapping audience members and fondled Alan Cumming during the audience interaction portion of the opening act. He was cuffed, dragged off, and muzzled after spitting on cops uttering homophobic slurs before promising to “f— up” their lives.

Shia posted $2500 bail and was released on his own recognizance. Details about that evening and what led up to it have leaked all weekend. Witnesses saw him acting weird on the streets of NYC that afternoon. TMZ says Shia was arguing with a homeless man over a hat. He was “whacked out” and kept telling the man, “It’s me, Shia.Page Six says Shia stole a McDonald’s bag from another (?) homeless man in Times Square: “He really wanted whatever was in that bag. He had so much focus.” At the Cabaret show, witnesses say Shia was “being lewd, grunting and yelling in a lascivious way.” Shia “fell out of his chair” and started bottle crashing during Michelle Williams’ solo. TMZ adds that Shia screamed, “Do you know who the f— I am?” when security initially confronted him.

At least Shia hasn’t issued a plagiarized apology for his behavior, but I fear for what’s to come. TMZ just updated with another story about how Shia was recently banned from a Sherman Oaks restaurant for public urination. He’s been going off the rails for awhile. A friend tells E! Online that Shia is “definitely” not on drugs but drank heavily before his Cabaret arrest. Alcohol is like dynamite for him:

While many may assume Shia LaBeouf was on drugs last night when he got into trouble at Broadway’s Cabaret, he was apparently only under the influence of alcohol.

“There were definitely no drugs involved,” says a source.

The 28-year-old Fury star was arraigned at Midtown Community Court around 10 a.m. Friday in New York City, less than 24 hours after he was escorted out of the musical, starring Michelle Williams and Alan Cumming. LaBeouf was arrested and charged with two counts of disorderly conduct, one count of criminal trespassing and one count of harassment. The Transformers star was released on his recognizance, and his next court date is scheduled for July 24.

“Drinking and Shia do not mix well,” the source said. “But he definitely wasn’t on any kind of drugs.”

Prior to attending the performance of Cabaret at Studio 54, LaBeouf was spotted at the Iguana Club, a Mexican restaurant located next to the theater in NYC, watching the World Cup. A woman who was approached by LaBeouf after he left the club told E! News that the actor said he had been drinking double margaritas and was alone.

He reportedly was given the ticket to Cabaret by a friend.

After his arraignment, LaBeouf walked to a nearby hotel while declining to talk with reporters who were following him.

A rep for the actor has declined to comment on his arrest.

I can’t tell what’s really going on with Shia. Are we to believe that he’s only an a-hole when he’s drunk? Is this more performance art? Or is he really “losing it”? Lainey reminds us that Transformers 4 opened this weekend. This is the first Transformers movie that hasn’t starred Shia.

Here’s an Instagram video taken by a bystander who watched Shia emerge from his arraignment. He seems … happy:

ABC News adds that police detected “an unpleasant body odor” from Shia. I could have told you that a long time ago. Shia’s been wearing his Fury boots everywhere because he’s so “dedicated” to the troops. He’s acting like a fool in those boots.
